The Boy With Striped Pajamas Book Review

It is the story of an event seared into the fabric of history.
The boy with striped pajamas book review. They are skinny they work hard they are all very dirty they are all wearing what looks like striped pajamas. The author john boyne did a masterful job of depicting the setting in such vivid detail and exposing the events in a manner that i felt a constant emotional pull as the story unfolded and impending doom lingered on the horizon. It could spark a great moral discussion. The boy in the striped pajamas would easily top my list of worst books about the holocaust.
The boy in striped pyjamas by john boyne review i would recommend this amazing book to anyone over the age of eleven due to its stunning plot and the way that john boyne has kept the reader. It is a fable told through the voice of a child but it is not for children and this is not just any child. His father has received a promotion and the family must move from their home to a new house far far away where there is no one to play with and nothing to do. When bruno returns home from school one day he discovers that his belongings are being packed in crates.
Bruno has overheard his parents talking and knows that his father s boss the fury is the one who arranged for them to move to the new home. Bruno is thrilled to have a friend his own age yet never fully grasps why shmuel can t play at his house or why bruno can t play with the other children in striped pajamas. Parents need to know that even though the main character in this book is 9 years old this book is a better fit for kids in late middle school and up. A tall fence running alongside stretches as far as the eye can see and cuts him off from the strange people he can see in the distance.
This was a powerful story and a brilliant book. It is completely told through the eyes of a young boy and i think the author has done this brilliantly. There are soldiers in there who poke at and laugh at the men and boys. The boy in the striped pajamas is an unusual story one of the most difficult and disturbing a teen will ever read.
Shmuel wears the striped pajamas and lives on the other side of the fence. Review by james webb. Shmuel and bruno begin to meet every day. The book focuses on complex emotional issues of evil and the holocaust and raises questions about the nature of man.
